Jacob Little Guides Families in Making Senior Living Decisions

Published on December 29, 2025

Like most teenagers, Jacob Little wanted money to buy a cellphone and to spend with friends. At age 15, Little landed a job at a nearby independent living facility where his great-grandmother resided. While there, he discovered a passion for serving older adults. This zeal has propelled him into the role of senior care adviser at ProMedica Senior Care in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, he assists families in selecting the best senior living options for their loved ones.

An Early Promotion to Manager

It didn’t take long for Little to advance in his career. By age 19, he accepted a dining room manager position at another assisted living community. “I fell in love with it,” he says. Although he arrived when the dining area was undergoing reconstruction, he still managed to transform the department on a fundamental level.

“I want the residents to have the best restaurant-style experience,” Little says. To achieve that level of service, he trained servers in proper etiquette. Additionally, he handled tasks such as hiring, budgeting, and administrative duties. This role would prepare him for the next chapter in his professional journey.

A Successful Transition to Sales

During residential tours, Little worked closely with the marketing team, who often asked him to speak about the dining experience. With positive feedback from the executive director, he began entertaining new possibilities. “I knew that sales was the next step,” he says.

When a new independent living community opened in Columbia, Little applied for a sales associate position and got the job. “We moved in 75 residents within a month and a half from our grand opening,” he says. The transition from dining services to sales would be the launch pad for future leadership positions.

A Focus on Resident Relationships

Over the following years, Little built a career that combined operational knowledge with community outreach. He worked as an account manager at WayForth and Town & Country Movers Inc. At Move Management, he assisted seniors and their families with relocation planning and logistics. His customer-focused approach earned him recognition as a top salesperson.

In 2024, Little became the leasing and outreach coordinator at Atrium Village in Owings Mills, Maryland. His role involved cultivating relationships with prospective residents, coordinating outreach initiatives, and contributing to occupancy growth. These positions helped him refine the skills he uses today at ProMedica Senior Care in Baltimore.

Insights and Trends in Senior Care

As a senior care adviser, Little’s work combines sales leadership with a personal dedication to enhancing the daily lives of seniors. With more than a decade of experience, he helps families identify their needs and connect them with the right services. “I think being able to listen is such a huge part of the job in this industry,” he says.

Little also highlights how trends in assisted living impact operations. For instance, some people aged 60 and up equate senior care communities with nursing homes. “Senior living has come so far in the last 20 years,” he says. “It is a community.” The residents enjoy amenities like meals, housekeeping, transportation, and social activities. They receive personal care assistance while maintaining their own independence.

Another shift in the sector involves artificial intelligence (AI). However, AI’s role is minor. The staff uses the technology to handle initial inquiry calls. “I’ll get a transcribed summary from AI to see what the conversation looked like,” Little says. He uses the information to better address people’s needs when speaking to them one-on-one.

Leadership That Values Respect

Little attributes his success to listening and respecting colleagues at every level. He emphasizes creating positive work environments where team members feel valued. “People, at the end of the day, just want to be able to come to a job where they’re happy,” he says. “So, treat everybody with respect.”

Mentorship and academic training also contribute to Little’s advancement in the field. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus. His desire to learn has strengthened his management and strategic planning skills.

Professional Affiliations and Aspirations

Outside of his role at ProMedica, Little participates in professional organizations, such as the Baltimore City Provider Council, the Senior Provider Informational Network, and the Northwest Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he contributes to research and care efforts through the Alzheimer’s Association.

Little aims to become an executive director within three to five years. He intends to achieve this goal by deepening his dining, nursing, sales, and marketing knowledge. In his personal life, he is happily married and enjoys time spent with his dogs, cats, and friends.
