Greg Martin: The Humanness at the Heart of Real Estate

Published on June 16, 2026

The real estate industry is sometimes framed as cold and remote, defined by its monetary transactions and rapidly evolving technology. Greg Martin aims to bring something simpler and more profound to the mix: the human experience.

With more than 27 years in the real estate profession, the owner and broker of MartinGroup Properties has seen the market evolve from paper files to AI-driven CRM systems. For Martin, the secret to his longevity and success has never actually changed: “Take care of the client,” he advises, “and everything else falls into place.”

A Foundation of Service

Martin’s road to his current leadership position was built on a solid foundation of discipline. After earning a Bachelor of Science in real estate from Penn State University in 1991, he spent a decade honing his craft at RE/MAX Executive Realty.

It was a formative era, and since founding MartinGroup Properties in 2009, Martin has continued to build on that foundation. Over the years, he has earned both accolades and respect, including being named among America’s Top 100 Real Estate Agents.

Tradition, Technology and a Human-Centric Approach

For Martin, real estate is about more than just closing a deal. It’s about offering stability and guidance for clients during one of the most stressful decisions of their lives. His professional motto, “Welcome to our family,” reflects this approach.

More than a marketing slogan, it’s the standard he sets for his team, which works out of Davidson, North Carolina. Whether a client is buying their first home or selling a longtime residence, the goal remains the same: to ensure they feel seen, heard and supported.

To deliver this level of care, Martin has had to embrace the very technology that many fear will replace the human touch. He views modern tools, such as artificial intelligence, transaction coordinators and inside sales agents (ISAs), not as a replacement for people but as a way to deliver better service.

“Zillow and Realtor.com are leading the charge with ease of online appointment bookings,” Martin notes as he acknowledges the quickly changing landscape. He adds that by integrating new systems, a real estate agent can be more efficient, since the technology allows them to spend more time focusing on the human touch. This balance, the use of technology to handle the heavy lifting so that he and his team can focus on building and strengthening client relationships, is what he believes sets MartinGroup Properties apart.

Looking to the Future

If someone asks Martin about his proudest achievement, he usually points away from the awards and toward the people he has helped. His focus on professional conduct and grounding his success in service rather than status is the biggest part of his success, he feels. When not putting in the time and effort to be there for his clients, he can be found spending time with family and hiking.

Looking to the future, Martin plans to set his sights on growth that feels more personal: bringing his family into the business. He insists he isn’t merely building a company. He is also developing a legacy, one he hopes will support his staff and serve his community for years to come. For Martin, the work is hard, but the mission is clear: He is here to help.
