Trucking companies are no strangers to paperwork. Hiring drivers remains fragmented and slow. A driver with undisclosed violations or patterns of risky behavior can affect a carrier’s safety score, insurance premiums, and audit exposure. Beyond hiring, the platform centers on what Spotter AI calls the Driver Board, a dashboard that provides a real-time view of both applicants and active drivers. Fleets can monitor drug testing status, track Department of Transportation compliance requirements, and receive automated alerts if a driver is involved in an accident, cited for a violation, or experiences a license status change. The system can also deliver reports and compliance updates directly into Slack channels, allowing recruiting and safety teams to collaborate without switching platforms.

Gabriel Stonys, President of Spotter AI, said the product was shaped by frustration with systems that created an administrative burden without improving transparency. He described Sentinel as an attempt to bring greater accountability into hiring and ongoing driver management, noting that early users have reported improvements in driver quality and compliance tracking.

The broader industry context helps explain the timing. Regulatory oversight remains constant regardless of freight cycles, and carriers are expected to maintain accurate records, monitor driver performance, and respond quickly to compliance issues. At the same time, ongoing turnover keeps pressure on recruiting teams to move efficiently without compromising safety.
