Lartevi began his career in medicine by earning a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Towson University in 2000. He subsequently completed a Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Medicine in 2009, a Family Medicine residency at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine in 2012, and a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship at Virginia Tech’s Carilion School of Medicine in 2015. Lartevi is licensed to practice in Kansas, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C.

Lartevi’s experience stems from the skills he honed through Kaiser Permanente, MedStar, MedExpress, and Patient First. He gained particularly valuable experience early in his career in his research and development through an Emerging Infectious Diseases fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where his research utilized molecular techniques to assist in the eradication of the poliovirus. He has also worked in biotechnology at Ventana Medical Systems Incorporated.

Lartevi’s vast knowledge has allowed him to hold educational, research, and project lead roles at Virginia Tech, James Madison University, and Towson University. He has also contributed to numerous publications and presentations, including the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases, the National Conference for Undergraduate Research, and the Georgetown University Family Medicine & Providence Hospital Internal Medicine Joint Lecture Series.

Lartevi’s commitment to his professional development has remained unwavering over the years. He has aligned himself with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association to ensure that he remains aware of changes in his field. In addition to his professional endeavors, he shares his knowledge generously by mentoring residents, medical students, and externs through various organizations in his locale.
