With a reputation built on resilience and results, Monica Ann Mahoney has become a top industry leader in sales. Recently recognized by Marquis Who’s Who for her accomplishments, she brings more than 30 years of experience to her critical role at Walmart and Sam’s Club within Simply Good Foods Co. Through dedication, perseverance, and strategic expertise, she has supported the company’s ongoing growth and success.

Adaptability as an Achievement

While Mahoney has not earned a college degree, her ongoing commitment to learning is instead evidenced by her career progression. At age 21, she began her career as an administrative employee at Frito-Lay in 1991, then advancing into her new role as retail link analyst. Though uncertain of her path forward, her adaptability ultimately led her to excel in her chosen field.

Six years later, Mahoney became a business analyst for National Retail Services and held the position for the next two years. By 1999, she had become a category development manager for Colgate-Palmolive. In 2001, she entered the same role at Merck Consumer Care, then became a customer business manager at the company in 2008. In 2014, she became the national account manager for The Coleman Co. Inc.

Joining the Simply Good Foods Company

Mahoney’s journey with Simply Good Foods Co. began in 2015, when she joined the company and led their category team as a customer development manager. Quickly advancing from this position to the Walmart/Sam’s Club team, where she became a national account manager at the company in 2016 and a team leader that same year. By 2018, she was appointed director of sales, and, in 2021, she entered the role of vice president of sales for Simply Good Foods Co.

When Mahoney began this role on the Walmart/Sam’s Club team, her business was valued at $185 million. Under her leadership she has tripled the business the past 5 years. In her role, she is responsible for engaging with Walmart/Sam’s Club to introduce innovative items, identify opportunities, build relationships, create long-term strategic plans and drive thought leadership. Through this work, she demonstrates her ability to help brands flourish at Walmart and Sam’s Club while driving growth.

Making an Impact in Both Her Career and Community

For her personal and professional contributions, Mahoney has received several awards and accolades. Notably, she has been honored with the President’s Award, Top Region Performer, as well as the Rainmaker Award. Additionally, she was acknowledged as a standout by Women in Business, a feature by Drug Store News.

Outside of her professional career, Mahoney is also involved in civic activities. She is active with the various charities through her local community and organization. She is also a member of NextUp, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing executive women in business.

Finding New Ways to Make a Difference

Moving forward, Mahoney strives to grow and take on new roles at Simply Good Foods Co. and further her involvement with NextUp. Currently, her passion is to elevate her role as a mentor and coach for others navigating their career journeys, communicating her own experience to help them find success. As Mahoney continues to grow her leadership and mentorship efforts, she remains committed to making a lasting impact.
