Beyond his crucial role at Karlsgate Inc., he has continued to lend his expertise as an adviser at Echelon Technology Advisors, a company he co-founded, since 2022.

Nielson’s academic background has been instrumental in his success. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science with a focus in premedical studies and honors studies from the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School. One of his standout achievements was developing the extensive global services program for Veeva Vault. This ambitious project required identifying global candidates to design and implement a software solution that had never been implemented before. With substantial investment of time and effort, developing new interview models and new ways to form a high-functioning team.

Despite the challenges, it was a resounding success, creating a highly respected, knowledgeable, and profitable department. The triumphs of his initiatives underscore his exceptional leadership skills, deep expertise, and remarkable ability to navigate and manage complex projects under pressure.

Beyond his day-to-day work, Nielson stays current in his field, achieving high expertise through continuous learning and engagement with contemporary trends and ideas. He is a member of various industry-related organizations, including the Real World Evidence Alliance, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).

His dedication and contributions to the field have been recognized with several awards, including the Distinguished Leaders Award and multiple Service Excellence Awards. He is also active in civic-minded organizations, such as the local Medical Technology Advisory Group, and served as a fundraising consultant and medical assistant for the H.A.R.T. Foundation.

Looking to the future, Nielson is committed to expanding his new venture on AI and real-world data to enable AI solutions for all Life Sciences firms. He has also launched a new industry blog, Artificially Real, featuring cutting-edge technologies for harnessing and utilizing real-world data and analytics.
