HW ELECTRO Co., Ltd, the trailblazing commercial EV manufacturer, is excited to introduce “PUZZLE,” its latest light commercial EV concept car, to the United States. “PUZZLE” embodies HW ELECTRO’s commitment to sustainability, connectivity, and social contribution, reflecting the company’s vision for a greener and more connected future.
“PUZZLE” is set to be available for commercial use in the United States in 2025. This innovative vehicle will be seamlessly integrated with HW ELECTRO’s proprietary “MyHWE” application and platform services, ensuring a new level of convenience and sustainability.
“The “PUZZLE” launch marks HW ELECTRO’s dedication to addressing environmental challenges and creating innovative eco-friendly solutions to the commercial vehicle market,” said Hsiao Weicheng, President of HW ELECTRO, at a press briefing held in New York City today. “We are excited to officially showcase “PUZZLE” today and we look forward to making it available in the U.S. market in 2025,” he added.
HW ELECTRO first entered the market with the ELEMO series, a line of next-generation multi-purpose commercial EVs. The ELEMO series, including ELEMO, ELEMO-K, and the LEMO-L mid-size van, was launched with the aim of reducing environmental burdens and enhancing disaster resilience.
HW ELECTRO’s rapid project turnaround capabilities and focus on user-friendly, Japanese-inspired products have made the ELEMO series a success. “PUZZLE” takes these principles to the next level, integrating sustainability, connectivity, and social contribution into a single commercial vehicle.
Hsiao Weicheng further noted, “We believe that “PUZZLE” is not only a state-of-the-art commercial EV concept but also a powerful symbol of our commitment to a more sustainable and connected future. With “PUZZLE,” we will provide a vehicle that meets the needs of our customers that will have a significant impact as the demand for commercial EVs continues to grow.”
The production version of “PUZZLE” is currently in development, with an expected U.S. availability in 2025.
“PUZZLE” Highlights Include:
- Social contribution: “PUZZLE” has been designed not only for the companies that would own the vehicle and for the drivers inside, but for everyone around the vehicle as well.
- “PUZZLE” offers AC outlets, USB ports, wi-fi internet connectivity and emergency tools. Roof-mounted solar panels ensure functionality even during prolonged power outages.
- Other than the outlets, the emergency tools include a first aid kit and a crowbar (the primary tool to clear debris in disaster zones). The tools have been carefully selected in collaboration with the Federation of BOSAI Education Japan, a disaster relief organization.
- Despite this extra functionality, the vehicle is affordable thanks to the Puzzle Design Approach: dramatic simplification of form by applying flat surfaces and right angles allows for a design that consists of recurring parts and panels that slot together like a puzzle. This way, sustainability is increased while manufacturing costs are decreased.
- Cargo area: PUZZLE’s flat surfaces and right angles make optimal use of the maximum dimensions within the KEI car vehicle segment, making for an exceptionally large and efficient cargo area. The passenger seat folds down to accommodate especially large items and can double as a side table for the driver.
- Pinboard functionality: the flat surfaces also allow for the interior’s pinboard functionality, which lets drivers customize the interior to suit their personal needs and preferences.
“PUZZLE” is integrated with HW ELECTRO’s software platform services, providing a highly convenient DX environment, including disaster relief and delivery optimization. The “MyHWE” application offers access to this software platform plus allows users to monitor the EV’s battery level, charging status, and location, with remote control capabilities. HW ELECTRO plans to expand these services and functionalities, further enhancing the customer experience.
