Primal Harvest’s CEO is a leader in the wellness and supplement industry. In a recent conversation, she offered insights into her leadership journey, the evolving landscape of health and wellness, and how she navigates the challenges of being a female CEO in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
With a commitment to transparency, data-driven innovation, and community engagement, she shares her perspective on how the company stays ahead of industry trends, upholds its dedication to quality and sustainability, and empowers consumers through education. Read on as she reflects on her personal values, the future of wellness, and the role of women in shaping the industry.
Grit Daily: As a female CEO, what unique challenges and opportunities have you encountered, and how do you navigate them in the predominantly male-dominated business world?
The supplement industry — and business leadership in general — has historically been male-dominated. While that dynamic is shifting, as a female CEO, I’ve encountered situations where I had to prove my expertise more than my male counterparts, whether in boardrooms, investor meetings, or industry events. There’s often an unspoken bias that women in wellness are expected to focus on lifestyle branding rather than the science and strategy behind the business.
Rather than seeing this as a challenge, I’ve used it as an opportunity. I lead with data, innovation, and transparency — not just passion. I’ve also prioritized building a brand that fosters inclusivity in leadership and product development. At Primal Harvest, we’re not just creating supplements; we’re helping people take control of their health. That’s a mission that transcends gender.
The opportunity? Women are at the forefront of driving wellness trends, making up the majority of supplement buyers. Understanding their needs—not just as consumers but as individuals with unique health challenges — has allowed us to create products that resonate on a deeper level.
Grit Daily: How do you stay ahead of industry trends in the ever-evolving supplement market, and how does Primal Harvest maintain its competitive edge?
We don’t chase fads. There are a lot of products we could create that, based on search data, we could easily sell. But, if we feel the product doesn’t have a significant, long-term benefit, we don’t move forward.
Instead, we stay ahead by focusing on three core strategies:
We look forward AND backward: We’re continuously researching to see what we can learn from the traditional medicine that’s been used for centuries, as well as the emerging botanicals and bioactive compounds alike.
Leveraging AI & Data for Consumer Insights: By analyzing consumer behavior, wearable tech trends, and personalized health data, we can innovate beyond traditional supplement formulas and develop products that meet evolving needs.
Commitment to Bioavailability & Efficacy: Many supplements don’t absorb well, rendering them ineffective. We ensure maximum bioavailability through superior nutrient forms, time-release capsules, and complementary ingredient pairings — a crucial but often overlooked part of supplement efficacy.
Staying competitive isn’t about having more products — it’s about having better products that fit seamlessly into people’s lives.
Grit Daily: Primal Harvest emphasizes the importance of natural ingredients. How do you ensure the quality and sustainability of your products, and what sets your brand apart in sourcing and production?
Quality and sustainability aren’t just buzzwords for us — they’re non-negotiables.
We carefully select trusted and traceable suppliers for all our ingredients, prioritizing allergen-friendly and plant-based components whenever possible. We partner with GMP-compliant, FDA-registered facilities that prioritize sustainable production and work towards reducing waste, emissions, and energy consumption. Our products undergo third-party lab testing for purity, potency, and contaminants.
What truly sets Primal Harvest apart is our commitment to science-backed natural solutions. While many brands claim to be “natural,” we ensure that every ingredient has a purpose, is dosed effectively, and is supported by clinical research.
Grit Daily: How does the company address consumer concerns about supplement efficacy and safety, especially regarding transparency and lab testing?
The supplement industry desperately needs more transparency. That’s why Primal Harvest takes a radical approach to quality assurance. Our US products are manufactured in the US, and our EU products are manufactured in the EU. Each batch undergoing comprehensive and validated testing for heavy metals, contaminants, and ingredient potency ensures that every product is clean, safe, and effective.
Additionally, we’ve moved forward with an education-first approach. Many of our customers are new to their health journey, and we feel it’s our responsibility to empower consumers with science-backed content so they understand how and why our products work.
Trust isn’t given — it’s earned. At Primal Harvest, we believe transparency is the foundation of long-term consumer trust.
Grit Daily: What role does wellness and personal health play in your own life, and how do your personal values align with Primal Harvest’s mission and products?
Wellness isn’t just part of my job — it’s part of my lifestyle. I’ve been a yogi for 20 years, but I’ve also had my entire genome sequenced. I believe in creating a health and wellness system that works for you specifically, that includes science-backed, holistic health practices that don’t just focus on quick fixes but long-term well-being.
Prioritizing Gut Health: As someone who deeply understands the connection between gut health, energy, and mental clarity, I prioritize nourishing my microbiome — just like Primal Harvest does in our formulations.
Smart Supplementation, Not Over-Supplementation: I believe supplements should be targeted and functional, supporting real needs rather than overloading the body with unnecessary ingredients. We avoid giving people a recommended bundle of 5 products they may or may not need. Instead, we recommend beginning with what you know you need, giving it time to work in your body, getting a new baseline, and then evaluating what else might be beneficial.
Longevity & Performance Optimization: Health isn’t just about feeling good today — it’s about setting yourself up for resilience, vitality, and longevity. Our products reflect that philosophy.
To me, Primal Harvest isn’t just a brand — it reflects how I live and the values I stand by.
Grit Daily: As the company grows, how do you ensure that Primal Harvest maintains its commitment to community and customer relationships, especially as you scale operations?
In 2025, our primary focus is spending our time and energy creating resources not only for our community but also for anyone who is looking for information. We actively engage with our customers through educational content, social media, and direct feedback loops. We don’t just sell supplements — we help people make informed decisions about their health, and we do that without focusing on how many of them will convert to customers. We provide science-backed education so customers feel empowered, not confused, when making wellness choices.
This practice also brings us closer to the customer, allowing their feedback to shape our innovation. We actively use customer insights, surveys, and real-world feedback to improve formulations and develop new products.
Growth doesn’t mean losing authenticity — it means scaling impact without sacrificing trust.
Grit Daily: What advice would you give to other women looking to lead their own companies or break into the wellness and supplement industries?
Firstly, feel solid in your skill set. The male counterparts often benefit from an ego, where women generally shy away from being boastful in professional settings. Find your anthem and start your day with it to set the tone. Remember that women are the main purchasers in the health and wellness space and that you will understand their needs much more intimately than your male counterparts.
Secondly, surround yourself with other female leaders, and it doesn’t matter what industry they’re in, as the Medici Effect is real. Meet weekly in a place with a good vibe (I like the sauna) and share experiences, ideas, concerns, etc. At worst, you get to vent; at best, you have a squad that can help you ideate and problem-solve.
Lastly, think long-term and know where to dedicate your time. It can be easy to get lost in the little things that should get done, but get laser-focused on what drives actual momentum and reserve the right to change your mind. As more information comes in, feel comfortable pivoting. After hearing a close friend struggle with menopausal issues, I quickly moved my focus to creating products that would help her and women like her.
In short, rely on your instincts, network, and the data to help guide you.
As the wellness and supplement industry continues to evolve, the insights shared by the CEO of Primal Harvest serve as a testament to the importance of innovation, transparency, and inclusivity in leadership. Her commitment to empowering consumers and her team reflects a holistic approach to health that transcends products and trends.
As the company grows, staying true to these values will drive its success and strengthen its relationship with the community. Her advice to other women looking to lead in this space is inspiring and a reminder that confidence, collaboration, and adaptability are key to creating lasting impact.
